PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Sophomore Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in his second individual event and the men's 4x400-meter relay team lowered its qualifying time in the Lake Erie College track and field team's final tune-up before next week's conference championship meet on Saturday (Feb. 19) at Kent State University.

Burrows finished second in the 400-meter dash in a school record 48.04 seconds.  Classmate and fellow 2010 outdoor All-American Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) was in seventh at 48.81 seconds. He had previously provisionally qualified in the 200-meter dash.

The pair teamed with sophomores Isaac Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) and Quinton Harley (Rochester, N.Y./Edison Tech) to run the 4x400-relay in 3:15.44, finishing second overall and a full second faster than their previous best effort. The performance moved the team up to 15th on the national performance list heading into the GLIAC Championship meet.

Isaac Snyder also tied Harley's school mark in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.48 seconds during the preliminary round.  Both athletes, as well as Ethan Snyder, qualified for the event's finals. Isaac Snyder also placed fourth in the 300-meters (36.71 seconds).

On the women's side, sophomore Colleen Bednar (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) set a school record in the 300-meter dash with a time of 43.02. She placed fourth overall in the event, just ahead of classmate Samantha Smith (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) who was seventh at 43.79 seconds.

The Storm heads to Saginaw, Mich. Friday, Feb. 25, for the two-day Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.  This will be Lake Erie's debut in the conference meet.
