Storm Rallies for Historic First Win, 15-14 at Erskine

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Trailing 8-5 midway through the first half, the Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team closed the period on a 5-0 run to take the lead and then held off Erskine College in the second half for a 15-14 victory and the first win in program history.

The Storm (1-1) scored three times in the final 1:12 of the first half and outscored Erskine 10-6 from the 7:10 mark of the opening period on.
Freshman Julie Kudla (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) led all scorers with six goals. Classmates Meredith Howe (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt), Brittany Rabuano (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) and Km Dang (Atlanta, Ga./Jackson) scored three goals apiece.
Freshman goalie Brittant Johnson (Hilliard, Ohio/Darby) made nine saves.
Lisa Kmonicek scored five goals for the Flying Fleet (0-6).
Lake Erie is idle until March 24, when it travels to Waynesburg University.
