Storm Falls at St. Andrews in Season Opener

PAINESVILLE, OHIO –  Five players scored at least three goals as host St. Andrews Presbyterian College spoiled the Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team's season opener with a 22-9 decision Monday (March 7) in Laurinburg, N.C.

Victoria Bickett scored five goals and Allie Faulhaber and Megan Jolly each had four as the Knights (1-2) outshot the Green and White 32-22.

Sophomore Meredith Howe (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesvile Dewitt) and freshmen Annie Mendoza (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Catholic) and Ashriel West (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesvile Dewitt) scored two goals apiece to lead Lake Erie (0-1).  Sophomores Brittany Rabuano (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn), Julia Kudla (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and Allison Trombetti (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) each scored a goal.

Three Storm goalkeepers combined for eight saves, but each allowed at least six goals.

Lake Erie will look to bounce back as it continues its spring trip on Wednesday, March 9, at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
