Lake Erie College (1-3, 0-3 GLIAC) struggled from the start and it did not get any better in an 8-0 loss to Tiffin University (3-2, 2-1 GLIAC), in a conference contest in Tiffin, Ohio.
The Dragons struck early with goals in the 11th and 12th minutes and added two more before halftime. Tiffin matched its scoring output from the first half with four more goals after the intermission. Shelly Rogers and Jenna Hornyak each had a pair of goals for the Dragons, while four others netted solo scores.
Tiffin won the battle of shots, 40-8, and corner kicks 13-4.
Freshman Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) made her first collegiate start for Lake Erie and made 15 saves while allowing the eight goals.
Lake Erie is in action next on Wednesday, Sept. 16 when they travel to take on Pitts.-Johnstown at 4:00 p.m.
