Storm Baseball Fields a $10,000 Anonymous Gift

PAINESVILLE, Ohio—Lake Erie College's baseball team is thrilled to have received a $10,000 gift to support the baseball program, the Storm announced today. The donors behind the gift have asked to remain anonymous, preferring the focus be on the team and its impact on the lives of its student-athletes.

"To say we are appreciative of this donation is truly an understatement," said Head Coach Cameron Castro, a 2012 graduate of LEC who took his post last fall. "A gift like this will immediately improve our student-athletes' experiences this coming season. Our coaching staff and players are incredibly thankful."

The anonymous donation will enable the team to improve its facilities, equipment, and programming as the Storm transitions to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), a move set to take place this fall.
"From improving on-field equipment and technology to boosting our facility's aesthetics, this donation is going to make a huge difference," said Coach Castro. "Financial support helps us provide our players with the very best equipment and development opportunities possible. We're thankful to know people believe in this program's future as much as we do."
Storm baseball will kick off its 15th season on August 24 under the lead of Coach Castro, Assistant Coach Jerry Hites, and Graduate Assistant Coaches Jared Franklin and Steve Hart. The spring season will begin January 8 with the first regular season contest set to take place February 17, 2018 versus Lincoln Memorial.
