Cacique Wins Prestigious NABF World Series MVP Award

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Lake Erie College senior second baseman/outfielder Brayan Cacique was named tournament MVP of the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF) College Division World Series.

The NABF was established at an organizational meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1914, and is the oldest continually operated national baseball organization in the country.

The NABF College Division World Series was held at Fifth Third Field, home of the AAA Toledo Mud Hens, and is composed of summer league teams from throughout the country.  Cacique played for the tournament champion Utica (N.Y.) Brewers of the Eastern Collegiate Baseball League. 

The Brewers won the Championship game, 10-1, over the Crystal Lake (Ill.) Cardinals.  Cacique went 5-for-5 in the game and had three RBIs.  For the tournament, Cacique batted 12-for-22 (.545) with seven RBIs.
