Storm Baseball Set For Season Debut (PREVIEW)

The Lake Erie College baseball team opens their 2016 on the road at Kentucky State University.  The Storm will play the Thorobreds in a pair of double-headers.

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm and Thorobreds met in 2014 for a four game series.  The Storm won three-of-four, outscoring the Thorobreds 30-5.

OPPOSITION POSITION: This marks the first games of the season for Kentucky State.  They finished last season with a 13-22 record and an 8-9 mark in SIAC play.

STORM REPORT: The Storm finished with a 20-20 overall record and a 17-15 GLIAC mark.  Offensively, the Storm returns former GLIAC Freshman of the Year Lucas Raley for his junior campaign.  In limited action last season, Raley hit .350 with a .455 opb and .625 slg%.  Joining Raley is 2015 All-GLIAC Second-Teamer Zak DeCamp. DeCamp led the Storm with 47 hits last year, hitting .333 with an obp of .423.  He drove in a team-high 41 RBI on 47 hits.  Louie Peterlin returns for his senior season as well.  Peterlin hit .309 last season with 14 RBI.  Connor Fuller returns as the veteran of the Storm pitching staff.  The senior won four games for the Storm last season.  He will be joined by sophomore Brian Bullock who led the Storm with a 2.78 ERA in 2015.  David Lemasters was a key contributor as both a start and reliever last season, pitching 23.2 innings. 

UP NEXT: The Storm will face Rockhurst University in Nashville, Tenn. next weekend in a four game series.
