INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The Lake Erie College baseball team fell to the University of Indianapolis 7-5 Friday (March 4) on the road in nonconference play.

Neither team came across the plate until the bottom of the third, when the Greyhounds scored five.

The Storm got on the board in the top of the fifth.  Nigel Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) hit a double to center field and moved to third on a groundout.  Austin Bovenzi (Fairport, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit) brought Williams home with a single to right field, cutting the lead to four.

In the top of the seventh, Williams hit a one out single and moved to second on a wild pitch.  Once again, Bovenzi brought Williams across the plate with a single.  Rees Rua (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele) followed up with a pitch hit single that brought Bovenzi home from second, cutting the lead to two.

The Greyhounds scored one in the bottom of the frame to extend their lead to three.  They added an additional run in the bottom of the eighth.

In the top of the eighth, Williams and Kody Bledsoe (Elyria, Ohio/Amherst Steele) singled to lead off the inning.  Lucas Raley (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina Highland) doubled to center field, scoring the two base runners.  However, it was not enough to overcome the Greyhounds lead.

Williams ended the game going three-for-three with three runs.  Bovenzi had two hits with two RBI and one run.  Raley had two hits with a pair of RBI.  Bledsoe had one hit and one run.
