Storm Set for Road Series With Northwood (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team will be in action this weekend as the Storm travels to Michigan for a four game GLIAC series with the Northwood University Timberwolves this weekend. Saturday's doubleheader is set to start at 1:00 PM and Sunday's action begins at 12:00 PM.

Storm Report: Lake Erie improved to 8-17 overall this season after a come-from-behind win over Charleston on Wednesday (April 5). The Storm scored four runs in the last two innings to win 13-10. Lake Erie is 2-10 on the season in conference play. Wes Birchmeier (Miamisburg, Ohio / Miamisburg) leads the team with 30 hits, 11 doubles and is tied for the team lead with five homeruns.

Opposition Position: Northwood is 19-7 overall and 6-2 in the GLIAC. The Timberwolves took three of four games from Hillsdale last weekend. Infielder Connor Foley leads the Timberwolves with a .456 batting average, 47 hits and 25 runs batted in.

Series History: Lake Erie leads the overall series 12-5 after the Storm took three of four games last season from Northwood.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will return home with a single nine-inning game against Gannon on Tuesday (April 11).
