PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team will travel to Williamston, North Carolina for a three game series against the Millersville University Maruders. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 24) at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The series finale will be Sunday (Feb. 25) at 11:00 AM.
"We're going to look to build a little momentum off of how we played in game two and the latter half of game three," said Storm head coach Cameron Castro. "I think we're going to continue to get good performances from our starting pitching. We also did a nice job picking it up defensively last weekend. If we can limit our walks and string together competitive at bats at the plate then we will be just fine this weekend."
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 0-3 this season so far following three losses at Lincoln Memorial in the opening weekend. Trace Peterson (Medina, Ohio / Medina) went five-for-seven in his first two games, including three RBI and his first collegiate homerun. Caleb Waller (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion) had four hits in the first three games.
Opposition Position: Millersville is 3-3 on the season so far after dropping two of three games at Newberry two weeks ago. Ben Snyder leads the Maruders with eleven hits, four doubles, and nine RBI.
Series History: The teams have never faced off on the diamond prior to this weekend.
Forecast: Lake Erie will continue their trip with single games at Mars Hill and Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday (Feb. 27) and Wednesday (Feb. 28), respectively.
