CHILLICOTHE, Ohio- The Lake Erie Storm baseball team earned a series sweep over Urbana after two victorious outcomes in the doubleheader today.
The first game was an 11-7 win, in which the Storm scored had a five-run first inning that included a two RBI triple by Nigel Williams followed by a home run by Caleb Waller. The Storm scored the 11 runs on 17 hits while committing zero errors. The Blue Knights scored seven runs on 14 hits and committing two errors. Evan Layne earned his first win in 2019, bringing his record to 1-2. He gave up four runs (three earned) on ten hits while earning three strikeouts. Mitch Sorensen and Cade Wendel also saw work in the first game of the day.
The second game was a 16-5 rout in which the Storm got 17 hits while committing zero errors. Urbana got eight hits while committing one error. Ryan Middendorf earned the win, going four innings with five runs given up on six hits, two walks, and earnng four strikeouts. Wyatt Smith, Ryan Lally, and Chris Mutter pitched in relief as well.

Caleb Waller- Recorded a .454 batting average with two home runs, two walks, and five RBIs.
Nigel Williams- Recorded a .500 batting average with a double, triple, walk, and six RBIs.
Trace Peterson- Recorded a .666 batting average with four doubles, one triple, one home run, one walk, and seven RBIs.
The Storm heads to Mercyhurst for a single game on Tuesday, Mar. 12. First pitch is set for 2pm.
