Baseball Takes Two In Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio- Lake Erie College Storm baseball won two games in the opening day of a four-game series against G-MAC foe, the University of Findlay Oilers. 

The Storm won the games with final scores of 8-7 and 5-4. Trace Peterson and Nigel Williams both went yard for the day, and four other Storm hitters also contributed with RBIs. Caleb Waller had three, and Nigel Williams had four, in addition to Peterson, Anthony Jackson, Sam Browning, and Rees Rua.

Ryan Middendorf started the first game and went eight innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks. Middendorf also earned seven strikeouts in his fourth win of the season. Chris Mutter successfully saved the game in the ninth inning, earning his sixth save of his junior season.

In game two, Dave Lemasters started on the mound getting six innings of work, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks. The senior earned nine strikeouts in his sixth win of the year. Freshman Jackson Miller earned his first save of his collegiate career.

The Storm will finish up the series tomorrow afternoon, with a doubleheader starting at 12pm.
