Storm Hosts Wayne State Saturday Night for Football and Fireworks

Wayne State University Warriors (4-1, 3-1 GLIAC) at Lake Erie College Storm (0-5, 0-4 GLIAC)

Where:  Jack Britt Memorial Stadium (2,500 capacity) in Painesville, Ohio
Tickets: Available at the gate. $10 general admission, $5 students and senior citizens. Lake Erie students and faculty admitted free with valid College ID.

QUICK NOTES: The Storm (0-5, 0-4 GLIAC) looks for its first win of the season against a Wayne State (4-1, 3-1) team that was won two straight and is tied for first place in the GLIAC's South Division… this will be just the second home night game in Lake Erie history and first since the team's inaugural game on Aug. 28, 2008 (24-22 loss to Gannon)… a free fireworks show – the first in the city of Painesville in over 20 years- will follow the game… Lake Erie is coming off a 22-12 home loss to Ferris State last week, a game in which the Storm outgained its opponent for the fourth time this season… redshirt freshman running back Chris Brown (Cincinnati) rushed for a career-high 83 yards on 10 carries in the defeat, including a one-yard touchdown run… sophomore kicker Sam Marcotte (Chardon) kicked two field goals and is 6-of-8 on the season… Wayne State defeated Northern Michigan, 28-16, at home last week. The Warriors are led by junior running back Josh Renel, who ranks second in the conference in rushing (124.4 ypg) and Painesville Harvey grad Mickey Mohner at quarterback.




UP NEXT: Lake Erie travels to Allendale, Mich. to face the No. 1 team in Division II, Grand Valley State University, next Saturday night, Oct. 16. Kickoff at Lubbers Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
