QUICK NOTES: Lake Erie hosts Ashland in the season finale on Senior Day and Veterans Appreciation Day.  Prior to the game, Lake Erie will recognize its 27 seniors, including nine fifth-year seniors who were on the inaugural club team in 2007… In addition, all veterans and active military personnel will be admitted to the game free of charge with valid proof of service and will participate in a special halftime program coordinated with the Lake Erie V.E.T.S. program… the Storm snapped an eight game losing streak overall and a nine-game GLIAC slide with a 52-42 win at Tiffin on Saturday.  Freshman RB Rod Smith ran for a career-high 172 yards on 21 carries and rushed for three touchdowns, setting a school single-game record. He had 118 yards in the first half alone...  Senior QB Sean Bedevelsky ran for two touchdowns and threw for two as well.  It was the third time in his career he had two touchdowns rushing and passing in the same game and the 15th time he had at least one of each in the same contest... senior WR Brandon James caught seven passes for 95 yards. He now has 66 receptions and 765 yards receiving this season, most in a single season in LEC history... senior LB Gus Armbruster  had a game-high 14 tackles to lead the LEC defense, including 10 solo stops... senior OLB Kevin Chapman had eight tackles, with 1.5 sacks... freshman DB Stacy Woodford intercepted his first career pass... the Storm rushed for a season-high 270 yards against Tiffin and did not attempt a punt in the game... Lake Erie allowed just 71 rushing yards against the Dragons, the fewest this year and just the second time the Storm defense surrendered less than 100 yards on the ground… Ashland was upset at home, 20-17, by Ohio Dominican last weekend, spoiling the Eagles' chances for a GLIAC South Division and conference championship and NCAA Division II playoff berth.

UP NEXT: Season completed. Lake Erie will open the 2012 campaign on Thursday night, Aug. 30 at traditional nonconference rival Gannon University.
