QUICK NOTES: Lake Erie hosts Ferris State Saturday in the Storm's home opener and the GLIAC opener for both teams… The Storm lost a heartbreaker at Gannon last Thursday in the season opener, as the Golden Knights scored with 1:05 left for a 36-33 win… despite the loss Lake Erie set school single game records with eight sacks, 16 tackles for loss and limited Gannon to minus-18 yards rushing… LEC rolled up 410 yards on offense.  Freshman RB Brandon Phenix had a big debut, rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns and sophomore WB Aaron Lindgren (Willoughby South) caught six passes for 127 yards and a score… senior K/P Sam Marcotte made his first four field goal attempts, including two from over 40 yards, to set a single-game LEC mark… Ferris State defeated NAIA opponent St. Francis (Ill.) 35-24 in its opener, the Bulldogs' first game under new head coach Tony Annese… the Bulldogs ran for 364 yards in the game, getting 100-yard efforts from RB Skyler Stoker (129) and QB Jason Vander Laan (103).










UP NEXT: Lake Erie travels to Detroit, Mich. to face defending NCAA Division II national runner-up and nationally-ranked (#5/16) Wayne State University.  Kickoff is set for noon at Adams Field.
