Lightning Strikes: The Lake Erie College football team looks to get back into the win column this weekend when it travels to Canton, Ohio for a 6 p.m. Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) kickoff Saturday night, Oct. 27, against host Walsh University at the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Fawcett Stadium... the Storm (2-6, 2-5 GLIAC)  had their two-game winning streak snapped by the University of Findlay last week, 41-17.  However, Lake Erie is coming off wins in both its last night game and last road game (Oct. 6 at Notre Dame College)... The Storm couldn't contain Findlay's Monterae Williams and did themselves no favors with four turnovers in the loss to the Oilers last week at home that snapped LEC's two-game winning streak.  Down 24-10 late in the third, the Storm had a chance to make it a one-score game with the ball at the Findlay one, but fumbled into the end zone resulting in a touchback.  Lake Erie then turned the ball over on its next three possessions to allow the Oilers to pull away.  Williams ran for 268 yards and scored all five of Findlay's touchdowns.  Brendan Gallagher completed 15-of-28 passes for 163 yards with a touchdown and an interception and ran for a career-best 74 yards on 22 carries with another score... Freshman Anthony Bilal carried 10 times for 44 yards in the loss to Findlay, running his season rushing total to 714 yards.  That's just 81 yards shy of Tony Howard's single-season rushing record total of 795 set in 2008.  Bilal, who has rushed for seven touchdowns this season, also has an outside shot at become the school's first 1,000-yard back as he is just 286 yards short of that mark... In his two starts to date this season, Brendan Gallagher is 21-of-42 passing for 268 yards with three TDs and an interception. He's run for 117 yards on 40 carries and three TDs... Marcus Rogers led the defense with 11 tackles against Findlay, the third time this year he has double digit tackles... Kyle Herth and Tanner Wells each made eight stops, with Herth recording a sack and Wells an interception... Wells has been on a defensive tear in recent weeks since making the move from his starting outside linebacker spot to safety to aid the depleted secondary.  He has intercepted a pass in each of the last three games – the first three of his career – to tie the school single-season record.  Overall in the last three weeks, Wells has recorded a total of 31 tackles, including a sacke...  Xavier Dowdell intercepted a pass against the Oilers, picking off a pass for the second straight week... Anthony Kukwa caught four passes to lead the receiving corps while Shane VanFletern, playing in just his second game back from injury after missing 4 1/2 games, caught three passes, including his first career TD reception... the four turnovers by LEC against Findlay marked a season high for the Storm... the 129 yards allowed by the LEC defense were the fewest since limiting Salisbury University to 96 passing yards on Oct. 17, 2009... the two interceptions last week give the Storm a total of nine for the season - the most ever by an LEC team in the program's history... Sam Marcotte connected on a 27-yard field goal and is now 8-of-11 on three-point tries this year. He also has connected on his last 18 overall kick attempts dating back to the Ashland University game... Walsh has won two-of-three and is coming off a 27-3 rout of Tiffin at home last weekend.  The Cavaliers are in their first season as a provisional member of NCAA Division II after competing at the NAIA level since the program's inception in 1995.

UP NEXT: Lake Erie returns home to host Ohio Dominican University on Senior Recognition Day next Saturday, Nov. 3. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
