Storm Well Represented on GLIAC Basketball Academic Teams

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Lake Erie College had a total of 15 student-athletes named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Basketball All-Academic and Academic Excellence teams which were recently released by the conference office.

The Storm had two players listed to the women's and men's All-Academic and the men's Academic Excellence teams and nine players named to the women's Academic Excellence squad, most of any school in the league.

All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that are an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0-3.49.  Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative g.p.a. of 3.50-4.0.

Named to the All-Academic team were: seniors Jen Caiola (South Russell, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) and Liz Stephens (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) for the women and junior Jordan Baker (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and redshirt freshman Tyler Walters (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) on the men's team.

Senior Matt Grendel (Independence, Ohio/Independence) and sophomore Riley Thomas (Cardington, Ohio/Lincoln) were named to the men's Academic Excellence.  The nine Storm women named to the Academic Excellence squad were: sophomores Chrissy Delaney (Delaware, Ohio/Olentangy) and Jodie Jindra (Sunbury, Ohio/Big Walnut); juniors Chloe Irish (LaGrange, Ohio/Keystone), Taylor Rogers (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland/Baldwin-Wallace) and Sarah Wojciechowski (Randolph, Ohio/Waterloo); and seniors Britt Busson (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth), Allison Pavkov (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls), Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and Alyssa Wagers (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls).
