Storm Concludes Season Against Ashland on Senior Day (PREVIEW)

NOTABLES: The Lake Erie College men's basketball team concludes the 2012-13 season Saturday, March 2, at home against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division rival Ashland University. The Storm (8-17, 5-16 GLIAC) split its games last weekend at home, falling to Tiffin University, 71-59, Thursday before defeating Ohio Dominican University, 60-59, in overtime Saturday. Junior Garrick Sims (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) recorded his first double-double of the season in the win over Ohio Dominican, leading the Storm with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The third-year center is averaging 7.6 ppg. and 4.8 rpg. this season... Junior Tom Parker (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) delivered in the clutch for the Storm, scoring the final five points of overtime on a three-pointer and a pair of free-throws and picking up a key steal in the final minute-and-a-half of play...Parker finished the game with 11 points... the Storm held ODU without a field-goal in the first seven-and-a-half minutes of the game, taking a 9-4 lead over the stretch... Ashland (12-12, 10-11 GLIAC) enters Saturday's contest riding a three-game winning streak with their last loss coming on Feb. 14 at the University of Findlay... last weekend the Eagles defeated Ohio Dominican, 84-71, and Tiffin University, 80-72, Saturday... Evan Yates leads Ashland with 16.8 ppg... the Storm fell at Ashland, 81-61, back on Feb. 2.
