Jordan Michael inks NLI at LEC

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Lake Erie Men's Basketball announced Tuesday Fairborn guard Jordan Michael has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his playing career with the Storm.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Michael has been a standout player for the Fairborn Skyhawks over the last two years. He averaged 17.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game as a junior in 2012-13.

"Jordan is a true combo guard who will be able to score or create for others at the next level," said Lake Erie Head Coach Cliff Hunt, whose Storm is off to a 3-0 start this season. "We love his basketball IQ as well as his athleticism.  He's a perfect fit for our program and our style of play. "

Playing for FHS head coach Nathan Chivington, Michael was named the Skyhawks Team MVP, First Team All-District 15 and First Team All-Greater Western Ohio Conference South Division after a junior season that saw him score 23-or-more points six times. He poured in a season-high 31 against Lebanon on Feb. 1, and shot 40 percent (21-of-53) from 3-point range over the last seven games of the season.

He was tabbed as a Second Team All-GWOC South Division performer as a sophomore.

The son of Vincent and Cindy Michael is a four-year member of the Fairborn High School Honor Roll. He is a current member of the school's President's List and is a varsity Club member.

"We believe Jordan has the ability to make plays on both offense and defense," said Hunt. "We feel that will allow him to challenge for playing time immediately."
