Storm Adds Four to 2015-16 Recruiting Class
PAINESVILLE, Ohio—The Lake Erie College men's basketball team announced the addition of four student-athletes for the 2015-16 season.

The four players join Lake Erie from the Storm's home state of Ohio.

"This is the deepest, most talented early signing class that we have had at Lake Erie College since our transition to the NCAA DII level," said Storm Head Coach Cliff Hunt. "The class is talented both athletically and academically and these players will make us a better team.  Their addition to our team improves our size and depth and will allow us to take another step in the GLIAC."

Below is the breakdown of the Storm's newcomers.

Brogan Scott – 6'5 – Medina Highland

HS Coach- Michael Murphy

Jr. Season Stats: 19 ppg., 11rpg., and 3 apg.

  • Three year letter winter and leading scorer at Highland. Selected All-Suburban League and All-Northeast Inland District after both Sophomore/Junior seasons
  • Named Division 1 All- Ohio Honorable Mention after a 15-7 in which Highland was Suburban League Champions
  • Enters his senior season with 955 career points
  • Ranked a Top-15 Forward in the State of Ohio 2015 class by Prep Spotlight

Coach's comment:

"Brogan brings a proven ability to score the ball.  With good size and an excellent understanding of the game, Brogan has a lot of versatility and he will be able to compete at two or three positions for early opportunities to help our team.  We are very excited to have Brogan in the Lake Erie College basketball program."

David Dunnigan- 6'8 – Padua Franciscan

HS Coach- Jake Lantz

Jr. Season Stats: 14 ppg., and 9 rpg.

  • Named 1st Team All-North Coast League after Junior Season
  • Ranked by Prep Spotlight as a Top 55 player in the Ohio Class of 2015

Coach's comment:

"David is a big, strong post player who is a GLIAC type player.  He has the size, strength and potential necessary to play in the very physical conference that we are in.  David is good and he will only get better as he continues to mature as a player.  David has a chance to have an immediate impact on our team."

Chase Jackson- 6'3 – Fredericktown

HS Coach- Randy Endsley

Jr. Season: 10 ppg., 7 rpg.

  • Led team to a 13-12 record in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference
  • Started at safety &WR on Fredericktown Football team that finished 11-1

Coach's comment:

"Chase is a strong, athletic wing player who is a multi sport athlete at the high school level and he has had tremendous success in both sports.  Chase is a scorer who can stretch the floor and he is also the kind of physical athlete who has a chance to surface as a great defender.  We believe that Chase will experience exponential growth in basketball once he can focus on one sport."

Mitch Loomis- 6'8 – Malvern

HS Coach- Dennis Tucci

Jr. Season Stats: 16.1 ppg., 10.2 rpg.

  • Led Malvern to a 20-7 record and an appearance in Regional Semi-Finals
  • Three year letter winner at Malvern. Selected All- Inner Valley Conference & All- Eastern District as both Sophomore & Junior
  • Ranked by Prep Spotlight as a Top 55 player in the Ohio Class of 2015
  • Also an All-Conference & All-District performer in both golf and baseball
Coach's comment:

"Mitch fits the definition of a stretch four.  He has three point range but with his motor and size he can go inside and rebound and score.  Mitch averaged a double-double in high school and we think he has the potential to match that at the NCAA DII level.  Mitch is a team player who plays with great effort and is a great fit for our team.  We are thrilled to have him in our program."
