COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The Lake Erie College men's basketball team was unable to hold onto a halftime lead as they fell in the final minutes to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Ohio Dominican University, 81-76, Saturday (Jan. 31) in a back-and-forth road contest.

The lead swapped eight times throughout the game.

The Panthers started the game on a 5-0 run but the Storm took the lead, 7-6, following a Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) three-pointer.  The Storm did not hold the lead for long as the Panthers regained control, gaining a 17-12 lead.  The Storm raged back over the next seven minutes, regaining the lead as they gained a 29-21 lead.  In the final five minutes, the Panthers chipped away at the Storm advantage but the Storm led 34-32 at the halftime break.

Trey Howard (Lima, Ohio/Lima Shawnee) and Dudley led the Storm with seven points apiece in the first half.  The Storm hit 14-of-27 (51.9%) shots in the opening half.

Ohio Dominican took a four point lead early on in the second half but a Steve Walczak (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy) gave the Storm the lead once again.  The teams traded the lead back and forth until the Panthers gained an 11 point advantage with ten minutes to play.  The Storm slowly dwindled down the lead to three, 69-66, with just over five minutes to play.  After a Panther free-throw brought the lead to four, a Howard lay-up brought the lead to just two.  The Panthers then went on a 5-1 run to take their lead to 75-69.  Howard hit a three to cut the lead in half.  After trading free-throws, Dudley hit a pair of free-throws to cut the lead to just one.  However, the Panthers converted four free-throw attempts in the final thirty seconds to seal the win.

Howard led the Storm with 18 points to go with five rebounds.  Dudley ended the game with 14 points while Andy Bosley (Columbus, Ohio/Orange) had 10.  Bosley also had five rebounds, three assists and two steals.  Roy Alexander (Columbus, Ohio/Walnut Ridge) had seven points and seven rebounds.  Walczak had six points and five rebounds.  Sean Howard (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) scored seven points while Nick Deitsch (Lewis Center, Ohio/Orange) had six.  Nick Wells (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) had seven rebounds.

The Storm hit 28-of-63 (44.4%) shots and were 10-of-21 (47.6%) from the three-point line.  Lake Erie committed just 11 turnovers.

The Storm is back in action Monday (Feb. 2) when they wrap-up a two-game road trip against Ashland University.
