LAKE ERIE COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL VS. SAGINAW VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
The Lake Erie College men's basketball team wraps up the 2015 portion of their schedule playing host to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Saginaw Valley State University.
"Saginaw is a very experienced, tough minded basketball team that really guards," said Storm Head Coach Cliff Hunt. "They will challenge us to run offense and get good shots. In our game at SVSU last year our biggest problem was just running offense in the scoring zone. On defense we need to rebound the ball and limit their second shots. Their starting five is talented and experienced and will really test our defense. This is a big bounce back game for us."
LAST TIME OUT: The Storm's comeback attempt against Cedarville University fell short as they fell 59-52 Tuesday (Dec. 12). Andy Bosley led the Storm with 18 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Michael Morris was also in double figures with 12 points while grabbing a team-high eight rebounds. Barth ended the game with nine points. Roy Alexander and Steve Walczak had four rebounds apiece.
SERIES HISTORY: This marks the sixth meeting between the schools. The Cardinals have won four of the previous games. The Storm's win over the Cardinals came in 2013. Last season, the Storm fell at Saginaw Valley 72-63.
OPPOSITION POSITION: The Cardinals enter the game with a 6-2 overall record and a 3-0 mark in GLIAC play. They are coming off a 68-66 win over Ashland University last Saturday. C.J. Turnage leads the Cardinals offense with 16.0 points per game.
FORECAST: The Storm is back in action Jan. 2nd at Lake Superior State University.
