Storm Opens 2016 in Michigan (PREVIEW)

The Lake Erie College men's basketball team opens the 2016 portion of their schedule playing at  Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foes Lake Superior State University and Northwood University. 

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm had the lead at halftime, but could not overcome a strong second half as they fell to Saginaw Valley State University 81-69.  Andy Bosley finished the game with a double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds to go with two assists. Sean Howard was also in double digits with 10 points to go alongside three rebounds and three assists. Trey Howard was second on the team with five rebounds to go with his four points.  Nick Wells scored nine points.  

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm is 0-5 all-time against Lake Superior, falling to the Lakers 79-60 in Painesville last season.  The Storm has fared better against Northwood, winning four-of-five games against the Timberwolves, including a 72-48 win last season. 

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Lakers enter the game on a seven-game winning streak, besting Silver Lake in their most recent outing.  They boast a 9-1 overall record and 4-0 mark in GLIAC play. Devin Daly leads Lake Superior with 22.9 points per game.   The Timberwolves enter the game with a 7-3 overall record and a 3-1 mark in GLIAC play.  They defeated Kentucky Wesleyan in their most recent outing.  Maurice Jones leads Northwood's offense averaging 21.7 points per game. 

FORECAST: The Storm is back at home January 7th against Michigan Tech University.
