PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's basketball team will be in action Thursday (Feb. 22) against Walsh and Saturday (Feb. 24) against Malone, with the games set to tip at 5:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
Storm Report: The Storm is 13-13 overall and 8-10 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Storm is coming off a great 65-63 win against Cedarville, which clicnhed them a spot in the Great Midwest tournament. Head Coach Kyle Conley said, "We are not content with just making the Great Midwest Athletic Conference playoffs. We remain extremely motivated and hope to continue to raise the bar of the Lake Erie College basketball program."
Opposition Position: The Cavaliers are 19-6 overall and 14-5 in conference play, and they are coming off an 86-75 win over Malone. Coach Conley added, "Walsh is one of the hottest teams in our league. They are big, strong, talented, and create a lot of challenges." The Pioneers are 19-8 overall and 12-7 in Conference action. Conley said, "Malone shoots the ball better than anyone in our league. We need to defend the arc."
Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the hardwood Thursday (Mar. 1) for the first round of Great Midwest Tournament play.
