(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Lake Erie will head to the state capital for a G-MAC contest with defending conference tournament champion Ohio Dominican Saturday afternoon. The Storm (6-3, 3-0) will put their unblemished league record on the line, while The Panthers (5-3, 1-1) are coming off of a regional win against Wisconsin-Parkside at Hillsdale.
The Storm are in the middle of a five-game road stretch to close out the month of December. Head Coach Kyle Conley's crew have won the first two games of the month and three consecutive overall entering the contest. Last season saw the Panthers take both contests in the second half of the season.
Lake Erie continues to be one of the strongest defenses in the G-MAC yielding just 65.1 points per game to opponents this year. By contrast, ODU is in the middle of the road of the same category at 72.4 points per game for sixth in the conference. The Panthers average 79.0 points per game on the offensive end to the Storm's 71.8, but the Green and White are coming off of their second-best night scoring-wise and their best night from the field this season.
Gabe Kynard leads the offense and is fourth in the conference with 17.4 points per game. The Panthers counter with Sam Hickey who has averaged 16.0 points an outing this year.
Tip-off with the Panthers is set for approximately 3 p.m. following the women's game.
