    On Sunday, the final day of February coincided with the final game of the Lake Erie College men's basketball regular season schedule. Unfortunately, the Storm weren't able to follow that up with a victory, losing to Walsh, 78-74.

    With two games left the Storm close out the 2021 season against the Cavaliers twice in back-to-back days. It was a tough Saturday afternoon scoring for Lake Erie (4-13, 4-13 G-MAC) as fell the Storm fell to Walsh (10-8, 108-8 G-MAC) 61-84 in Canton.

    Lake Erie men’s basketball (4-12, 4-12 G-MAC) found themselves on the outside looking in for the final playoff spot on Thursday night against Malone (13-6, 12-5 G-MAC). The Pioneers reduced the chances for the Storm in a 94-75 victory in Canton. 
  • Plantz Drops 31, Storm Wins Big Against Ohio Valley

    On Tuesday afternoon, the Lake Erie college men's basketball team played, arguably, its most dominating performance of the season, topping Ohio Valley, 101-65. The win keeps the Storm alive in the GMAC Conference playoff hunt, improving their record to 4-11.

    On Thursday night, with the chance of staying alive in GMAC playoff contention at stake, the Lake Erie College men's basketball team did just that, defeating Trevecca Nazarene, 68-53.
  • Men's Basketball Grabs Second Win of Season, Beating Tiffin 77-72

    On Wednesday afternoon, the Lake Erie men's basketball team won its second game of the season and first at home, defeating the visiting Tiffin Dragons by a score of 77-72. This contest served as a makeup game for the Storm, who hadn't played since losing at Malone on February 8.

    After an impressive performance at Trevecca Nazarene, the Storm will look to continue to take care of the ball and find ways to score on Monday against Malone. Lake Erie is led by Jacob Plantz who enters Monday’s game scoring 13.8 points per game. As a team, the Storm is shooting 62.7 percent from the field and holding their opponents to 42.8 percent.

    Justin Miller poured in 18 points as Malone held off Lake Erie 81-68 Monday night in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference match. Lake Erie (1-10, 1-10 G-MAC) fell behind 18-9 to Malone (6-5, 5-4 G-MAC) in the first ten minutes of action. The Pioneer lead grew to 14 points with 6:54 to play in the first half, but the Storm showed no let-up going on a ten-point scoring run heading into halftime.

    Heading into this week’s road trip, the Lake Erie men’s basketball team was slowly building confidence. That confidence translated into the Storms first victory 69-56 over Trevecca Nazarene.

    Lake Erie men’s basketball will look to earn their first win of the season at Trevecca Nazarene (3-13, 2-13 G-MAC) on Saturday, February 6 at 5:15 pm EST. Both teams enter the match at the bottom of the conference in offensive production.

    After a close game, last time out at home against Findlay the Lake Erie men’s basketball team look to steal one on the road as they face Kentucky Wesleyan. Going into Thursday nights match up Jacob Plantz is averaging 16.3 points in the last three games. Lake Erie will look to up their season point total of 60.8 points a game against the Panthers who hold their opponents to 64.8 a game. 
  • Kentucky Wesleyan Holds Of Lake Erie

    Lake Erie (0-9, 0-9 G-MAC) and Kentucky Wesleyan (9-4,8-4) traded leads much of the first half in the game. The Panthers took held a 43-37 cushion into halftime. At the end of the first half, Kentucky Wesleyan outshot the Storm 51.6 percent to 45.5 percent.

    Lake Erie men’s basketball (0-7, 0-7 G-MAC) will host the No. 7 Findlay Oilers (11-1,10-1 G-MAC) at 7:30 pm in Painesville on Monday. The last time out the Storm fell to the Oilers 83-67 in Niekamp Arena.

    The Lake Erie men’s basketball team (0-8, 0-8 G-MAC) came out of the gates with high energy on both ends of the court. The impressive first half didn’t hold over well after the intermission en route to a 72-62 loss on Monday against  No. 7 Findlay (12-1, 11-1 G-MAC).

    No. 15 Hillsdale (10-1,10-1 G-MAC) proved to be too much for Lake Erie men’s basketball (0-6,0-6 G-MAC) Thursday night in Hillsdale. In the 63-70 loss, the Storm finished the game shooting 39 percent.
