Jarrod Teeter represented the Lake Erie College Storm men's golf program in the debut of his collegiate golf career at the ODU Kickoff Classic today, hosted by Ohio Dominican University at Wedgewood Golf and Country Club in Powell, Ohio.
The golfers played two rounds, and the tournament field consisted of 70 players from U. Indy, Otterbein University, Cedarville University, Ohio Dominican University, Ohio Christian, Ohio Wesleyan, and Mt. Vernon Nazarene.
Teeter, a freshman, finished with final scores of 83 in both rounds today, shooting par on four straight holes in both rounds. He birdied on the 14th hole, a par five, in his second round of the day. "Today was one of the best experiences I've ever had.", said Teeter. "Playing 36 holes in one day is challenging but I wouldn't trade it for anything else."
Head coach Brody Harwell was proud of the way his team performed today. "I'm very pleased with the way Jarrod battled all day for more than nine hours.", said Coach Harwell. "I know he (Jarrod) wanted to do perform better than he did, but he handled this new experience well. We can take a lot of positives away from today, his first collegiate tournament, and build on them going into the Malone Invitational this weekend."
Teeter is set to play in the Malone Invitational this upcoming weekend, a 72-hole tournament spread across Friday and Saturday. Malone University will host the tournament at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance, Ohio.
