Sutter, Magdich Named to NSCAA Scholar List

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Lake Erie College men's soccer team had two players named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-East Region Team.

Defender James Sutter (Batavia, Ohio/Amelia) and midfielder Jacob Magdich (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) were named to the honorable mention list as both carried GPA of better than 3.8.
Sutter, a Math major, carries a 3.86 GPA and rounded out his Lake Erie soccer career with a solid year as the Storm's sweeper on the back line. He also contributed a pair of goals up front, scoring in back-to-back games in late October.
Magdich is a Chemistry/Math major with a 3.81 GPA. He scored two goals and tallied two assists on the season. His best game came in a 5-1 win at Alderson-Broaddus on Oct. 18, in which he recorded both goals and one of his assists.
Magdich and Sutter are two of four Lake Erie players to start all 20 games this season.
The Storm finished with a 7-11-2 mark in its final season as a Division II independent. In 2010, the Storm will join the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
