PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- For the fourth time this season, the Lake Erie College men's soccer team found themselves in an overtime battle and for the third time, the Storm scored the golden goal, this time to upset 23rd-ranked Ohio Dominican University, as they defeated the Panthers 2-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest Sunday (Sept. 22).

Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont. St. Mary Catholic) scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime session, his first of the season.

In the first-half, neither team was able to find the back of the net. Storm goalkeeper Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont./Pikering) made three saves in the half, including a pair on shots from within five-yards. Cory Bucur (Bedford, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) nearly sneaked a shot past Panther's goalie Macklin Robinson in the final two minutes but Robinson was able to recover to make the save.

Ohio Dominican cracked the scoreboard in the 48th minute when Frazer Feranades scored from inside the box off a pass from Billy McGlone. The Storm responded just four minutes later when Alfred Majer (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) received a pass from Ryan Gibson (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scotio) and beat a defender, burying a shot under the cross bar to tie the game. Both teams had scoring opportunities in the half but neither were able to convert, sending the game into overtime.

The Panthers registered seven shots in the first overtime session but Ljubevski made three stops to keep the game even.

Less than three minutes into the second overtime, Novak received a pass 15-yards away from net and methodically danced around the Ohio Domincan defenders and put a shot past Robinson to give the Storm their third overtime win of the season.

Ljubevski made nine saves in the game for his fourth win of the season.

The Storm return to action Wednesday (Sept. 25), visiting GLIAC foe Tiffin University.
