Storm Plays 16th-Ranked Saginaw Valley State to Draw

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.-- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team headed north to face 16th-ranked Saginaw Valley State University in a pivotal Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup Friday (Oct. 18). The Storm played the Cardinals to a 0-0 2OT draw. 

The Cardinals previosly defeated the Storm 3-0 on Sept. 13 in Painesville. 

Saginaw Valley State controlled the pace of the game, outshooting the Storm 22-8, including 7-1 in the extra sessions but Storm goalkeepr Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont./Pikering) was outstanding the net, keeping the Cardinals off the board while making nine saves. 

Luke Hobbs (Yarm, England/Conyers School), Stewart Bath (Billingham, England/Billingham Campus School/Averett University) and Jeffery Swanson (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) had two shots apiece for the Storm. 

The Storm remain on the road Sunday (Oct. 20), traveling to Northwood University for a conference contest.
