Storm Unable To Overcome Early Tiffin Goal

PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was unable to overcome an early goal from Tiffin University, as they fell to the Dragons, 1-0, Wednesday (Oct. 23) in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest. 

The Dragons got on the scorebaord first with a goal from Smart Osadolor in the 17th minute. Neither team was able to find the back of the net the rest of the half and were even in shots with six apiece. Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont./St. Mary Catholic) made two saves in net for the Storm- his first appearance as a goalkeeper this season. 

The teams continued to battle throughout the second half. The Storm owned a 7-6 advantage in shots but were unable to net a goal, as they fell to the Dragons. 

Ryan Gibson (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) led the Storm with four shots for the match. Novak ended the game with four saves while Jeffery Swanson (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) made two saves. 

Jeremy Ashley made seven saves in net for the Dragons. 

The Storm returns to action Friday (Oct. 25), traveling to Walsh University for a GLIAC match.
