Storm Open Season With a 2-0 Victory

CALIFORNIA, Pa.- Storm Open the Season With a 2-0 Victory Over California University.  With the win the Storm improve to 1-0-0 on the season, and California University falls to 1-1-0 on the season. 

The first half of the game was scoreless, and California University out shot Lake Erie College in 6-4 in the first half.

Senior forward Alfred Majer (Mentor, Oh. / Mentor) opened the scoring in the 60th minute off of an assist from senior midfielder Cory Bucur (Bedford, Ohio / St. Peter Chanel) to make the score 1-0. 

The Storm widened the lead when junior midfielder Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont. / St. Mary Catholic) scored his first goal of the season to make the score 2-0 in the 67th minute.     

Junior goalie Fillip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) played the entire game faced 11 shots, four of which were on goal, and made four saves.

Lake Erie College will be back in action when they take on Salem International Tuesday September 9th at 5:30 P.M. on Slattery Field in Painesville, Ohio.
