The Storm Tie Against Malone, 1-1

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team tied Malone University today (September 26th), 1-1.  With the tie the Storm are now 2-3-1 overall, and 1-2-1 in the conference, and Malone is 1-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play. 

Lake Erie College opened the scoring in the first half when a ball rolled across the box to sophomore forward Stuart Campbell (Glassgow, Scotland / Glassgow Academy) to make the score 1-0 at the 13 minute mark in the half.  

In the second half, Malone tied the game when Nick Astalos finished a loose ball in the box to make the score 1-1 with 34 minutes to play in the game. 

In overtime both teams had chances to win the game, but were unsuccessful in converting their opportunities. 

In goal for the Storm was junior Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) faced eight shots, four of which were on goal, made three saves, and allowed one goal. 

The Storm are back in action Sunday (September 28th) when they host Walsh University at 1 P.M. at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.
