Philippi, WV – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was victorious over Alderson Broaddus today (October 29th), 3-1. With the win the Storm improves to 10-4 -2 overall, and Alderson Broaddus falls to 7-9-1 overall.
The scoring was opened when senior forward Cory Bucur (Bedford, Ohio / St. Peter Chanel) scored an unassisted goal to give the Storm an early 1-0 advantage.
Alderson Broaddus tied the match when Zach Partyka scored an unassisted goal to make the score 1-1.
The Storm took the lead with less than a minute to play in the first half when sophomore forward Stuart Campbell (Glassgow, Scotland / Glassgow Academy) scored off of an assist from Bucur, making the score 2-1 in favor of the Storm.
In the second half Lake Erie widened the margin when senior forward Stephan Martin (Surrey, England / Greenshore) scored off of an assist by senior midfielder Alfred Majer (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) to give the Storm a 3-1 lead.
In net for the Storm was senior Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) he faced seven shots shots, two of which were on frame, made one save and allowed one goal.
Lake Erie College will be back in action on Friday (October 31st) when they travel to take on Ohio Dominican at 7 P.M.
