TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was defeated today (November 7th) by Northwood University, 2-0.
In the first half both teams had multiple opportunities to break the scoreless draw but were unsuccessful. The Storm led the way with five shots and Northwood had four shots.
Keaton Levock opened the scoring in the first ten minutes of the second half when he found the back of the net off of a cross from Adam Thomas, to give the Timberwolves a 1-0 advantage.
In the 81st minute Northwood widened their lead when James Vaugh scored off of an assist by Jack Smith to make the score 2-0.
In net for the Storm was junior Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) he faced 12 shots, five of which were on frame, made three saves and allowed two goals.
Northwood will advance to the GLIAC championship on Sunday (November 9th) where they will play the winner of Tiffin versus Saginaw Valley St.
