DANBURY, Conn.—Lake Erie College men's soccer junior defender Joseph Coombs (Knutsford, England/Holmes Chapel Sixth Form) was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division-II All-Star Second-Team announced by the conference Thursday (Dec. 18).
Coombs has earned several honors this postseason after a tremendous junior year, being named to the All-GLIAC, All-Midwest Region and All-NSCAA/Continental Tire Teams.
Coombs earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice this year as well as an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week honor. He helped anchor a Storm defense that allowed only .7 goals a game while recording eight shutouts. Offensively, Coombs had seven points on three goals and an assist, including game-winning goals against the University of Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. In the game against Ohio Dominican, Coombs tallied two goals and an assist.
In his career, Coombs appeared in 34 games making 33 starts.
