COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team tied today (September 11th) with Ohio Dominican University, 2-2. With the tie the Storm is 0-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the conference and the Panthers are 0-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
Ohio Dominican opened the scoring in the 5th minute when Michael Fragoulis scored off of an assist by Justin Bonchek to put the Panthers up 1-0. The Panthers added to the lead less than a minute later when Andrew Schwall scored an unassisted goal, to give Ohio Dominican a 2-0 edge.
In the second half, the Storm cut into the lead when Samuel Mutemwa (Johannesburg, South Africa / Sandringham High School) scored an unassisted goal to make the score, 2-1 in favor of the Panthers. The Storm tied the game at 2-2 in the 83rd minute when Joseph Coombs (Knutsford, England / Holmes Chapel Sixth Form) found the back of the net off of an assist by Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont. / St. Mary Catholic).
The overtime period was a scoreless battle, which resulted in a 2-2 tie.
In net for the Storm was Hugo Fauroux (Cannes, France / Lycee Bristol) he faced 12 shots, three of which were on goal, and made one save.
Lake Erie will be back in action Sunday (September 13th) when they host Urbana University at 1 P.M.
