PAINESVILLE, Ohio— The Lake Erie College men's soccer team picked up a key Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) victory over Tiffin University, 1-0, Sunday (Oct. 11) at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville.

Neither team was able to break through strong defenses as only 11 shots were allowed with each goalie making two saves apiece.

Miquel Espinoza (Perry, Ohio/Perry) broke the scoreless game up midway through the second half.  Ryan Gibson (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) threw a ball in that bounced around the box before Espionoza struck it from about 15-yards out under the crossbar.

The defense played tight the rest of the game, limiting Tiffin's chances to secure the win.

Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont./Pikering) started in net for the Storm, making six saves.

Samuel Mutemwa (Johannesburg, South Africa/Sandringham) and Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont./St. Mary's) had three shots apiece.

The Storm is back in action Oct. 16 at Northwood University.
