PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- Lake Erie College men's soccer seniors Joseph Coombs and Anthony Novak earned spots on the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) All-Ohio NCAA Division-II Teams for their performances during the 2015 season.
Coombs was named First-Team while Novak was named Second-Team.
Coombs (Knutsford, England/Holmes Chapel Sixth Form), a defender, was previously named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Midwest Second Team selection, Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Midwest Second-Team selection, All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First-Team selection and GLIAC Defender of the Year this offseason. He anchored the Storm defense throughout the season. The defense posted four shutouts and allowed just one goal in three other games. Aside from his defensive premise, Coombs scored three goals, including the gamewinner against Walsh University at home and the game tying goal against Saginaw Valley State University in the GLIAC semifinals. In his career, Coombs has totaled six goals and one assist in 52 games.
Novak (Toronto, Ont./St Mary's Catholic), a midfielder, was previously named a CCA All-Midwest Second Team selection and All-GLIAC Second-Team selection this offseason. He appeared in 11 games and tied for the Storm lead with eight goals, while assisting on three more. Five of his goals were gamewinners. At Walsh, Novak netted a hat trick. He also had a pair of goals and an assist in the season opener at Seton Hill University. In his career, Novak has totaled 14 goals and seven assists in 65 games.
