PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team moved into the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division-II Regional Rankings Tuesday (Sept. 6).
The Storm clocked in at number eight in the poll.
In their first week of action, the Storm went 2-0. In their season and home opener on Sept. 1 against Roberts Wesleyan College, the Storm won 2-0 off goals Ben Phillips (Manchester, England/College of St. Scholastica) and Kenneth Kolke (Stow, Ohio/Munroe Falls). Andrew Bucur (Bedford, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel). On Sept. 4, the Storm defeated defending PSAC Champion Slippery Rock University 1-0. Bucur scored the lone goal of the game.
Kolke was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the pair of games.
The Storm is back in action at home Friday (Sept. 9) against Tiffin University in GLIAC action.
