PAINESVILLE, Ohio-The Lake Erie College men's soccer team looks to end the 2016 regular season on a high note and make a final GLIAC Tournament push as they host the Ohio Dominican University Panthers on Wednesday (Oct. 26) night. The Storm concludes the regular season on a two game home stand.
Coach Brenner's Take: "The players are really looking forward to the game and we have an experienced and talented group of players who understand what it takes to win important games when the pressure is on, which is exactly what Wednesday night is all about. We have players that thrive in these situations. I encourage everyone to come out and support the team."
Storm Report: Lake Erie is currently 7-6-3 overall on the season after the Storm dropped the last two matches to #23 Saginaw Valley State (4-2) and Northwood (1-0) over the weekend. The Storm holds a 5-6-3 GLIAC mark to date.
GLIAC Tournament Bid: Leading into Wednesday, the Storm is tied with Ohio Dominican for the 4th and final spot in the GLIAC Tournament with 18 points. Northern Michigan is one point behind and Findlay is two behind fourth place.
Series History: Over the last seven seasons, the Storm and the Panthers have faced off 14 times on the field. Ohio Dominican leads the series 2-11-1 so far. Ohio Dominican defeated the Storm in the first meeting this year, by a score of 1-0.
Opposition Position: The Panthers enter the game Wednesday with a 6-9 record overall and 6-7 mark in the conference. Ohio Dominican defeated Ashland 5-1 in their last game back on Sunday (Oct. 23).
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will honor the senior class with Senior Day at home against Walsh on Sunday (Oct. 30).
