Fauroux Named GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year, 4 Named All-GLIAC

BAY CITY, Mich. - With the start of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tournament near, the GLIAC announced the award winners for the All-GLIAC teams on Thursday (Nov. 3) at the annual men's soccer banquet.

Four Storm players were honored at the banquet, including Hugo Fauroux (Cannes, France / Lycee Bristol) winning two awards.

Fauroux was tabbed as the GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year by the league's coaches. Fauroux also was honored as the All-GLIAC First Team Goalkeeper. Fauroux made 69 saves throughout the season in 17 games with 14 goals allowed. He finished the season with a goal against average of .84, which was 2nd in the GLIAC. He was a part of nine of the ten shutouts this season.

Jesse Schluter (Boksee, Germany / Kathe-Kollwikz) was the only freshman that was named to the All-GLIAC First Team as he was chosen as a defender. Schluter scored three goals in his first season with the Storm and was on defense for the Storm's school-record ten shutouts this year.

Samuel Mutemwa (Johannesburg, South Africa / Sandringham) concluded his Storm career with being named to the All-GLIAC Second Team as a midfielder. In 14 games, Mutemwa scored one goal and assisted on three goals.

Ondrej Jelinek (Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnasium Stodulky) was honored as an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention. Jelinek started 14 games for the Storm as a midfielder, where he had one assist this season.

The Storm will play Saginaw Valley State in the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament on Friday (Nov. 4).
