PAINESVILLE, Ohio- Former Lake Erie College men's soccer player Nolyn Do Nascimento (Ajax, Ontario / Pickering) was recently signed by the Oakville Blue Devils of the League1 Ontario. The League1 Ontario is a semi-professional soccer league.
Do Nascimento joined the Blue Devils prior to the start of the season, which began last month.
Do Nascimento was a four year member of the Storm men's soccer program as he appeared in 62 games with 53 starts. He scored two goals in his career. He tallied a game-winning goal in double overtime against Northwood in his freshman campaign and found the back of the net against Tiffin in his junior year, also a game-winner.
In his career, Do Nascimento was named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention once as a freshman. As a sophomore, he was named All-GLIAC Second Team, All-Ohio First Team and NCSAA All-Midwest DII Region. This past season, he earned a spot on the All-GLIAC Tournament team.
"Lake Erie College has helped me mature as a player and a person in many ways," said Do Nascimento. "I looked up to many of the upperclassmen when I was younger and felt they helped groom me to becoming a successful leader and captain by my senior year. I have many great memories and lessons learned from this program and institution as a whole that will help me succeed in my future athletic and life endeavors."
The Blue Devils are one of 16 teams that play in the Men's Division of the League1 Ontario. Anthony Novak, a former Storm soccer player, is a teammate of Nolyn on the Blue Devils.
