PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team will continue a stretch of four straight Great Midwest matchups at home with games against the Walsh University Cavaliers and the Malone University Pioneers. The Storm will host Walsh on Thursday (Sept. 28) at 11:00 AM and Malone on Saturday (Sept. 30) at 5:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 2-6 overall and 1-5 in Great Midwest games following a 5-0 defeat against Davis & Elkins on Saturday (Sept. 23). Javier Borreguero (Nigran, Spain / Los Sauces School) leads the Storm with five goals and is tied for the team lead with three assists.
Opposition Position: Walsh comes to Painesville with a 5-3-1 record overall and a 4-2 G-MAC record. The Cavaliers defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 7-0 in the last game. Three different players have five goals each for Walsh. Malone is 1-7 overall and 1-5 in Great Midwest games this season. The Pioneers fell 3-2 to Salem International last week. Sam Condon leads the Pioneers with four goals.
Series History: Lake Erie and Walsh have faced off 13 times on the pitch with Lake Erie holding a 9-3-1 series advantage. The Cavaliers took the first matchup of the 2017 season by a 3-1 score. Lake Erie has won three straight matches against Malone as the Storm leads the series 5-4-1.
