Storm Concludes Great Midwest Regular Season (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team will finish up the 2017 Great Midwest regular season schedule with two road games this week. The Storm will travel to face the #11 Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots on Thursday (Oct. 19) and the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets on Saturday (Oct. 21). 

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 4-10 overall and 3-9 in Great Midwest matches following a 4-3 overtime loss to Findlay on Senior Day. Javier Borreguero (Nigran, Spain / Los Sauces School) and Ezekiel Ebenezer (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) each have scored six goals for the Storm. 

Opposition Position: Ohio Valley is 13-1-2 overall and 10-0-2 in the conference as they are ranked #11 in the country. The Fighting Scots defeated Malone 4-0 in their last game. Celso Riveros is the leading scorer with ten goals. Cedarville is 7-8 overall along with a 6-6 G-MAC record. The Yellow Jackets fell 2-1 to Walsh the last time out. Derek Braak and Bryce Childers each have eight goals for Cedarville. 

Series History: Lake Erie and Ohio Valley have met once before in the series. Lake Erie won the only matchup in 2009 with a 5-0 score. The Storm and the Yellow Jackets met for the first time earlier this season. In September, Cedarville won the Great Midwest opener by a 2-0 final score.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will host Daeman on Tuesday (Oct. 24) in the regular season finale.
