The Storm is coming off 2017's 5-12 record, in which head coach Louie Rolko will be in his second season at the head of the program. Coach Rolko says, "I am very excited for this season.  I think we have a great group of returning players as well as some great additions to our program coming in.  Most importantly, I believe we have a great group of people who are ready to work and are committed academically and athletically.  The GMAC is a strong conference, where any team can win on any given day.  We know every team will be a good test for us, and hope we are ready for the challenges that await.  Lewis and I worked hard over the past year to establish and build a culture and program that Lake Erie College and our alums can be proud of." He will be supported by assistant coaches Lewis Dunne and Cory Burcur.

Miguel Espinoza (Sr), Ezekiel Ebenezer (So), and Tom John (So) will return to the Storm for the 2018 season. They each started all 17 games in 2017.

Espinoza (Sr) scored 2 goals, one of which was a game-winner, and had 5 assists. Ebenezer (So) is coming off his freshman season in which he scored seven goals, one of which was a game-winner. Tom John (So) is also coming off his freshman season at keeper, and posted 85 saves on the year for a save percentage of .649. Their in-game leadership will complement the 29 incoming players looking to make their mark on Storm soccer for the 2018 season.

Lake Erie men's soccer will open the 2018 season at Ashland University on August 30, and the Storm defends home turf for the first time in 2018 on September 1 at 7pm.
