(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Tomorrow will be the most important day of the season for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Lake Erie College. It's the final game of the regular season, and while the playoffs might not officially start until this Saturday, they will pseudo-start tomorrow for both teams.
On the men's side, the Storm need to defeat Walsh on the road in North Canton. Lake Erie currently sits with 18 points, and three more on a win would vault the Storm over Malone (19) and Alderson Broaddus (20) who finished their conference schedules last week. The Storm defeated the Cavaliers in their first meeting this season by a 4-1 decision in the G-MAC opener back on September 4.
Miguel Espinoza led the team that that day with a pair of goals, both of which were assisted by Ezekiel Ebenezer. Javier Borreguero opened the scoring with a goal just 2:35 into the contest. Aaron Middendorf also added a goal on an assist from Sander Van der Sluij.
Espinoza has been one of the biggest offensive threats in the G-MAC this season with 1.38 points, a mark that ranks second in the conference. Borreguero is right behind him with 1.19 points per game, the ninth-best in the league. Jonathon Carr has served well as the setup man with 10 assists on the year. He's one of two players in the G-MAC to reach double-figures in that category.
Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.at Milazzo Field in North Canton.
