(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – After last year's exciting season that saw Lake Erie advance to the G-MAC Semifinals, the Storm are excited to announce the 2019 schedule. This year's slate will feature 18 games, 14 of which are in conference, and 14 within the state of Ohio.
"We are very excited for the 2019 season to kick off. We have a great group of players returning as well as a deep, talented incoming class that will be able to add quality and depth to our team," said Head Coach Louie Rolko. "While last fall was a good season for us, we have set the bar higher. We are excited to see what this team is capable of and hope to challenge for the G-MAC Championship."
The campaign will get underway on Thursday, Sept. 5, under the lights at Jack Britt Stadium as the Storm welcome Ashland. It will be the first of two consecutive home games to open up the year as Slippery Rock will come to town two days later.
G-MAC action will start the next week with a road trip down I-77 to Canton to take on Malone on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m. Following that will be one of two trips out of state on the season as Lake Erie heads to Michigan to take on Division II newcomer Davenport on Friday, Sept. 13. The Storm will stay there until Sunday to take on another GLIAC opponent in Northern Michigan for the only neutral site game in the regular season.
The longest home stand follows as Lake Erie returns to Painesville to take on Cedarville, Findlay, Tiffin, and Malone before four consecutive road games at Walsh, Trevecca Nazarene, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Cedarville.
The Storm will play Ohio Dominican, Ohio Valley, and Alderson Broaddus only once this season with all games at home. Those contests will be sandwiched around a pair of road games at Findlay and Tiffin.
