(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – After another pair of wins last week, Lake Erie moved up three spots to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 national poll. The Storm remained unbeaten with a 5-1 win over Malone at home and a 2-0 victory at Walsh to earn six more points to remain at the top of the G-MAC standings.
It's the fourth consecutive week the Green and White have been ranked. They debuted at No. 16 for their first ranking in the 25-year program history. The following week the Storm jumped up to No. 13 and were No. 9 in last week's rankings.
A new No. 1 rose to the top of the polls as Azusa Pacific now leads the pack. Maryville rose one spot to No. 2. Cal State L.A. jumped two spots and now sits in third, while last week's top ranked team Adelphi dropped to fourth after recording a 1-1 draw with Southern Connecticut State. Florida Tech rounds out the top five after jumping up from No. 11 last week.
The Storm now heads on their longest road trip of the regular season to take on Trevecca Nazarene this Friday. Kickoff with the Trojans is set for 8 p.m. in Nashville.
