INDIANA, Pa. (March 17, 2009) - Lake Erie College remained on the road for its 14th and 15th straight games, losing in double header action to Indiana (Pa.), 12-0 and 6-4. Despite going hitless in the opening contest, the Storm didn't back down in game two, recording nine hits and keeping the score close.
Lake Erie scored its first run of the afternoon in the top of the first in the second game after freshman third baseman Megan Foley (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) hit a two-out single and sophomore shortstop Britt'nie Bartow (Stow, Ohio/Stow) stroked an RBI double. IUP responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning and two more in its next at bat to take a 6-1 lead. The Storm then plated two runs in the third with a two-out single by freshman center fielder Kristen Robbins (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) and a two-run home run to left field by Foley - the third of her collegiate career. Lake Erie then added its final run in the fourth inning - again on two outs - with a single by freshman left fielder Jessica Connell (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) and an RBI double by freshman second baseman Jamie Wodecki (Northfield, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel).
